Dr Dave Hughes Appointed Trustee at Hi Scotland

Hi Scotland is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Dave Hughes, Founder of Different Circle Consulting, to its Board of Trustees.

Dr Hughes is a Scottish entrepreneur and engineer, with expertise in deep technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. His career has been built on taking ideas from the lab to the marketplace, helping bridge the gap between research, product development, and global industry adoption. 

He is the founder of Novosound, a technology company built from academic research, which he led for seven years from early concept through to global markets across healthcare, industrial, and wearable applications. Prior to this, Dr Hughes spent a decade in research, giving him lived experience of the journey from lab to boardroom.

Dr Hughes believes that Hi Scotland can play a lynchpin role in healthcare innovation, connecting real clinical needs with industry and commercial partners. By designing side-by-side with children, families and clinical teams, and testing solutions in the real-world setting of the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, Hi Scotland connects clinical insight, academic research and commercial delivery.
